COMPETITIONRepresentative Surfing (All year)
Each year we will select surfers to represent us in school exchanges (see below),  To be eligible for these surfers must attend 80% of trainings and school whilst also being a positive part of the culture at Tauranga Boys' College. Surfers must also be an active member of Bay Boardriders (Mount Maunganui) or Point Boardriders (Raglan). Trainings will be based at the beach or school depending on conditions.

The School Championship (Hewitt Cup). This will happen in Term 1 (swell dependent). It is a new format of competition where students don't compete in heats but against themselves. Final position points are determined at the end of each session (based on their two wave total) and the highest aggregate wins the Championship. This entitles the surfer to be a part of ALL exchanges for the year.

Gisborne/New Plymouth Exchange
. Held in Term 2 is an exchange with GBHS and NPBHS. The top surfers from each school will be involved.

NZ Secondary Schools allow a maximum of 10 surfers per school. Ideally each entrant will be surfing to a level that they could make the quarter-finals of their age-group.

BOP Scholastics is open to any surfer.

Junior Exchange. Held in Term 4 we compete against New Plymouth Boys' High School's best junior surfers. This alternates between New Plymouth and Tauranga.
