NZSS Underwater Hockey Championships (Junior and Senior). 31st August - 3rd September at West Wave Aquatic Centre, Henderson, Auckland.

TRAINING:  Club nights (as above). Term 1 at TGC pool from 4.00-5.30pm on Thursday.  Term 2, & 3 trainings are on Thursday from 4:30-6pm at Baywave.

GEAR:  Boys need diving fins, split lens Goggles (not mono lens), UWH glove, a pair of UWH sticks, a pair of UWH caps (same as water polo caps).  Most of the equipment is available for purchase via our Sunday night Club Nights.  Most students have some of this ‘dive’ gear already.

If starting from scratch, there is Club loan gear available for loan or students can buy their own equipment for around $150+ (depending what they buy).  The advantage being that the students keep this gear for life, using also for diving, snorkelling etc in their own time so it is a very worthwhile expense.  There is also secondhand gear available for sale from time to time – ask on Club nights.

UNIFORM:  During the Competitions, the boys must wear their TBC Uniform Speedos (purchased through TBC – Teacher in Charge) and also a TBC Underwater Hockey Titans Sport T-shirt (loaned from TBC or may be purchased to keep).

TGA UWH Club Committee Members:  Every club is held together by a handful of dedicated parents and Tauranga UWH Club is always looking for parents who would like to assist in the running of the Club for the good of all players.  If you are even half interested please make contact with Committee Members on Sunday at Baywave.

Many of our boys also take a referees course so they are able to contribute back to the sport by refereeing at Club, Regional and National games and supporting new players to learn fitness, skills and tactics.
